The Giant’s Causeway is composed of basalt columns that are packed
together.
There are about 37,000 of these stone columns.
Most are six sided, but some are 4, 5, 7, and 8 sided.
Giant’s Causeway was formed 60 million years ago.
What Epoch, Period, and Era was that in?

Plant fossils below show that lava erupted over vegetation and that
the climate of Ireland was once semi-tropical.
