Rocky Mountains

1915
• 1915 the year the Rocky mountain national
park act was passed by the congress.
• The Rocky Mountain National Park was
recognized as a National Park when it was set
aside for to preserve the wilderness for future
generations.
Forming
• The Rocky Mountains were formed like any
other mountain in the world, by the collision
of tectonic plates. They hit each other and
then come out of the ground to form
mountain ranges.
Rocks
• There can be many rocks found in the Rockies
but here are some common ones:
Precambrian metamorphic, argillite,
Paleozoic, limestone and dolomite
Geographic Features
• The main Feature of the Rockies is their
amazing mountains. They have many
mountain ranges in the park that are very
colorful and big and at the very top there is
snow on the very top.
Changes
• Currently they have made many changes to
the Rockies. They have made new roads in
the mountains, modernized the buildings and
make more paths.
Disturbance
• Some disturbances are of long standing, and
are difficult, if not impossible, to erase. For
example the project of the grand ditch ended
up not going so well. The disturbed the flow
of the Colorado River.
