Training focus: selecting information
Vocabulary:
pensioner: a person who receives a pension,
especially the government pension given to old
people:
• Students and pensioners are entitled to a discount.
• disc: a circular flat object:
• The dog's name was engraved on a little metal
disc attached to its collar.
• interval: a period between two events or times, or
the space between two points:
• We see each other at regular intervals - usually
about once a month.
• There's often a long interval between an author
completing a book and it appearing in the shops.
• tune: to move the controls on a radio or television,
etc. so that it receives programs broadcast from a
