Obstacles to hearing God’s voice
‫هكذا يقول الرب فاديك قدوس اسرائيل انا الرب الهك معلمك لتنتفع و‬
‫ ليتك اصغيت لوصاياي فكان كنهر سالمك‬.‫امشيك في طريق تسلك فيه‬
)17- 18 : 48 ‫و برك كلجج البحر (اش‬
“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One
of Israel: “ I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you
to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. Oh,
that you had heeded My commandments! Then your
peace would have been like a river, And your
righteousness like the waves of the sea. ” (IS 48: 17-18)

‫فقال صموئيل هل مسرة الرب بالمحرقات و الذبائح كما باستماع صوت‬
‫الرب هوذا االستماع افضل من الذبيحة و االصغاء افضل من شحم‬

“So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight
in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the
voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than
sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.”
(1 SA 15: 22)
‫) التعلق بشخص أو بأمر‬1(
1) Attachment to someone or something
)9 : 17 ‫القلب اخدع من كل شيء و هو نجيس من يعرفه (ار‬
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and
desperately wicked; who can know it? ” (JE 17: 9)
‫و لكن كان قائد المئة ينقاد الى ربان السفينة و الى صاحبها اكثر مما‬
)11 : 27 ‫الى قول بولس (اع‬
“Nevertheless the centurion was more persuaded by
the helmsman and the owner of the ship than by the
things spoken by Paul.” (Acts 27:11)
‫) التعلق بشخص أو بأمر‬1(
1) Attachment to someone or something
‫فاختار لوط لنفسه كل دائرة االردن و ارتحل لوط شرقا فاعتزل الواحد‬
)11 : 13 ‫عن االخر (تك‬
“Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan,
and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from
each other.” (GE 13: 11)
2) The Wrong Advice ‫) المشورة الخاطئة‬2(
‫فكلمه االحداث الذين نشاوا معه قائلين هكذا تقول للشعب الذين كلموك قائلين‬
‫ان اباك ثقل نيرنا و اما انت فخفف عنا هكذا تقول لهم ان خنصري اغلظ من‬
‫ و االن ابي حملكم نيرا ثقيال و انا ازيد على نيركم ابي ادبكم‬.‫متني ابي‬
)11 -10 :10 ‫أخ‬2( .‫بالسياط و اما انا فبالعقارب‬
“Then the young men who had grown up with him spoke
to him, saying, “Thus you should speak to the people who
have spoken to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke
heavy, but you make it lighter on us’ -thus you shall say to
them: ‘My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s
waist! And now, whereas my father put a heavy yoke on
you, I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with
whips, but I will chastise you with scourges!” (2 CH 10: 10-11)
2) The Wrong Advice ‫) المشورة الخاطئة‬2(
‫فقال اخيتوفل البشالوم ادخل الى سراري ابيك اللواتي تركهن لحفظ البيت‬
‫فيسمع كل اسرائيل انك قد صرت مكروها من ابيك فتتشدد ايدي جميع الذين‬
)21 : 16 ‫صم‬2( ‫معك‬
“And Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your
father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the
house; and all Israel will hear that you are abhorred
by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you
will be strong.” (2 SA 16: 21)
3) The Rushing
‫) اإلستعجال‬3(
‫فمات شاول بخيانته التي بها خان الرب من اجل كالم الرب الذي لم‬
‫ و لم يسال من الرب‬.‫يحفظه و ايضا الجل طلبه الى الجان للسؤال‬
)14 ،13 : 10 ‫اخبار‬1( ‫فاماته و حول المملكة الى داود بن يسى‬
“So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had
committed against the LORD, because he did not keep
the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted
a medium for guidance. But he did not inquire of the
LORD; therefore He killed him, and turned the
kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.” (1 CH 10: 13-14)
3) The Rushing

‫فقالت ساراي البرام هوذا الرب قد امسكني عن الوالدة ادخل على‬
)2 :16 ‫ (تك‬.‫جاريتي لعلي ارزق منها بنين فسمع ابرام لقول ساراي‬
“So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the LORD has
restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to
my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And
Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.” (GE 16: 2)
3) The Rushing
‫) اإلستعجال‬3(
‫فرات المراة ان الشجرة جيدة لالكل و انها بهجة للعيون و ان الشجرة‬
‫شهية للنظر فاخذت من ثمرها و اكلت و اعطت رجلها ايضا معها فاكل‬
)6 : 3 ‫(تك‬
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for
food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable
to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also
gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”(GE 3:6)
‫) االستسالم للحزن أو الخوف‬4(
4) Surrendering to grief or fear
‫فلما راى ذلك قام ومضى الجل نفسه واتى الى بئر سبع التي ليهوذا وترك غالمه‬
‫ ثم سار في البرية مسيرة يوم حتى اتى وجلس تحت رتمة وطلب الموت‬.‫هناك‬
)4 ،3 :19 ‫مل‬1(‫لنفسه وقال قد كفى االن يا رب خذ نفسي النني لست خيرا من ابائي‬
“And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life,
and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and
left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s
journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down
under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die,
and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I
am no better than my fathers!” (1 KI 19: 3-4)

4) Surrendering to grief or fear
‫و فيما هما يتكلمان و يتحاوران اقترب اليهما يسوع نفسه و كان‬
‫ و لكن امسكت اعينهما عن معرفته‬.‫يمشي معهما‬

“So it was, while they conversed and reasoned,
that Jesus Himself drew near and went with
them. But their eyes were restrained, so that they
did not know Him. ” (LK 24: 15-16)

4) Surrendering to grief or fear
‫فقاال لها يا امراة لماذا تبكين قالت لهما انهم اخذوا سيدي و لست‬
)13 : 20 ‫اعلم اين وضعوه (يو‬
“Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you
weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have
taken away my Lord, and I do not know where
they have laid Him.” (JN 20:13)
5) Cruelty of the heart
‫) قساوة القلب‬5(
‫اذ قيل اليوم ان سمعتم صوته فال تقسوا قلوبكم كما في االسخاط‬
)15 : 3 ‫(عب‬
“Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden
your hearts as in the rebellion.” (HE 3:15)
‫و لكن اغلظ فرعون قلبه هذه المرة ايضا فلم يطلق الشعب‬
)32 :8 ‫(خر‬
“But Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also;
neither would he let the people go.” (EX 8: 32)
5) Cruelty of the heart
‫) قساوة القلب‬5(
‫الن قلب هذا الشعب قد غلظ و اذانهم قد ثقل سماعها و غمضوا‬
‫عيونهم لئال يبصروا بعيونهم و يسمعوا باذانهم و يفهموا بقلوبهم و‬
)15 : 13 ‫يرجعوا فاشفيهم (مت‬
“For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they
have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears, Lest they should
understand with their hearts and turn, so that I
should heal them.’” (MT 13: 15)
6) The Preoccupation

‫و بينما كان يتكلم عن البر و التعفف و الدينونة العتيدة ان تكون ارتعب‬
‫فيلكس و اجاب اما االن فاذهب و متى حصلت على وقت استدعيك‬
)25 : 24 ‫(اع‬
“Now as he reasoned about righteousness, selfcontrol, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid
and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a
convenient time I will call for you.” (Acts 24: 25)
6) The Preoccupation
‫) المشغولية‬6(
‫فاجاب يسوع و قال لها مرثا مرثا انت تهتمين و تضطربين الجل امور‬
)41 : 10 ‫كثيرة (لو‬
“And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha,
Martha, you are worried and troubled about many
things.” (LK 10:41)
‫ثم قال لعبيده اما العرس فمستعد و اما المدعوون فلم يكونوا مستحقين‬

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is
ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.”
(MT 22:8)

7) Insistence on a wrong status (sin)
‫الن هيرودس كان يهاب يوحنا عالما انه رجل بار و قديس و كان يحفظه و‬
)20 : 6 ‫اذ سمعه فعل كثيرا و سمعه بسرور (مر‬
“for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and
holy man, and he protected him. And when he heard
him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. ”
(MK 6:20)
)9 : 26 ‫النه كان يمكن ان يباع هذا الطيب بكثير و يعطى للفقراء (مت‬
“For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much
and given to the poor.” (MT 26:9)
8) Rejecting the Discipleship ‫) رفض التلمذة‬8(
)21 : 5 ‫ويل للحكماء في اعين انفسهم و الفهماء عند ذواتهم (اش‬
“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and
prudent in their own sight! ” (IS 5: 21)
‫النك تقول اني انا غني و قد استغنيت و ال حاجة لي الى شيء و لست‬
)17 : 3 ‫تعلم انك انت الشقي و البئس و فقير و اعمى و عريان (رؤ‬
“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy,
and have need of nothing’-and do not know that
you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and
naked-” (RE 3:17)
