do NOT take an object. There are 17 of these

For regular verbs conjugated with être, the
past participle is formed the same way.

A main difference between using
avoir and être
When you conjugate a transitive verb with
avoir, you do not change the past participle.
Once you’ve found it, you leave it. Note
below, the only thing in the conjugation that
changes is the avoir.

With être…
You follow the same pattern to form the past
participle (as previously noted,) but you have to
make it agree in gender and in number with the
subject, as an adjective
