1. EVERY SPANISH VERB HAS 2 PARTS.
• One part is the stem.
• The other part is the ending.
• Ej: Hablar is a Spanish verb.
• For now, we will focus on the group that ends with –ar.

Notice: The ending changes with each point of view. Remove the –ar before
adding any new endings!

4. HOW DO I CONJUGATE AN INFINITIVE?
• A verb that still has its original –ar, -er or –ir ending is called an
infinitive.
• In English, infinitives are preceded by the word “to”.
• Ej: Hablar means “to talk”.
• Comer means “to eat”.
• Escribir means “to write”.
• When you give the verb a subject, we call that conjugating.
• Ej: Hablo means “I talk”.
