For the same ones, the context of the sentences will help you to figure
them out.
How do you place them?
• He sees her.
• Il la voit. (He her sees)
Remember: the object pronoun is between
the subject and verb.
In a simple sentence
• He loves her.
Il l’aime.
HE HER LOVES.
In a negative sentence
• He does not love her.
Il ne l’aime pas.
Direct pronouns come in front of the verb,
unlike in English :
Il les aime.
Je peux la voir.
He loves them.
I can see her.
Positive- affirmative command
In AFFIRMATIVE commands, the object
pronoun comes AFTER the verb and is
attached with a hyphen.
EX: 1. Invite-les au concert! (Invite them
to the concert)
But in negative commands….
It goes in front of the verb.
Ex: Do not invite them.
Ne les invite pas.
