DOS: IR + A + INFINITIVO
Another way of expressing the future is to
use ir and an infinitive to express that one is
going to preform a certain action.
 The second verb is not conjugated; only ir.
 For a refresher, the conjugation of ir is:


Singular
Plural
1st Person
voy
vamos
2nd Person
vas
vais
3rd Person
va
van
Ex: ellos correr  van a correr
TRES: PENSAR/QUERER
Other verbs express the future, such as pensar
(to plan) and querer (to want).
 The verbs are conjugated normally, but the
sentences they are used in convey a sense
future events.
 Although representing the future, they are
present tense verbs.

CUATRO: EL SUBJUNTIVO
The subjunctive may also be used to express
future or doubtful events.
 It is used based on the probability of an
event occuring.
 To form the subjunctive, go to the yo form of
the verb, drop the –o, and add the opposite
ending of the verb.
(If one has not learned the subjunctive yet,
do not use it to express the future)

PROBABILIDAD
The future tense can be used to express the
likelihood of an event occurring.
 This depends on the context in which the future
tense is used.
 Ex: Gina no está aquí. Estará en casa.
(Gina is not here. She is probably at home.)
 Estoy triste. ¿Me amará?
(I am sad. I wonder if she loves me.)

MANDATOS
The future tense also serves as emphatic
commands, where one orders another without
objection.
Ex: Comerás las zanahorias.
(You will eat the carrots.)
Ex: Cocinarás la cena.
(You will make dinner.)

PRESENTE V FUTURO
Events often may be described using the
present or future tense.
 For events occurring in the near future, use the
present.
 For events occurring in the distant future, use
the future.

The varying forms of the future do not all take
the conjugation of the formal future tense.
 Only the future tense itself requires the special
conjugation.
 Ir, pensar, and querer will all take the present
tense conjugation.
