4
Technical Difficulties
• Had to learn JSP
• Had to install a web server
• Decide if we should use an existing
component (JasperReport)
• Add something, Eclipse Team
2016-05-24
5
Learn JSP
• Fairly easy
• Good reuse of Java code
• Good future knowledge
2016-05-24
6
Installing a web server
• We used the Apache Tomcat server
• Some minor problems
• Also good knowledge

7
Decide if to use JasperReport
• Pros
– ”Don’t re-invent the wheel”
– Free to use
– The Eclipse and the Web app. Gets an
already defined format to work against
(Jasper XML)
• Cons
– Very, very bad documentation (Since the
documentation is not free!)

Experience
• Positive
– Working distributed
– Very good experience
• Negative
– Working distributed
– Writing documents (Bad support for merging
documents)
– Ambitious requirements
– Not to much code could be shared

Cultural Experience
• Sweden about Croatia
– Not as interested in working office-hours as
we.
– Very high ambitions
– Very convinced about their ideas
– More willing to take a conflict
– More direct and aggressive way of discussion
than we are used to
– Very nice people!

Cultural Experience
• Croatia about Sweden
– Very strict about working hours, hard to reach
if something comes up during non-working
hours.
– Discussed design ideas alone and started
implementing them.
– Somewhat soft in discussions, hard to know
how they really felt about issues discussed
