Eating habits in Poland
and other European
countries
Zwolińska Roksana
Culinary patriotism is huge among Poles. Without much exaggeration, one
may be tempted to declare that the native culinary culture is treated as
part of national identity. In an attempt to identify the type of foods that
best suit their taste (according to the report Knorr), 41% of respondents
without hesitation pointed out the dishes according to the provisions of
the Polish cuisine. Equally decisive in the choice of dishes of other cuisines
of the world was only 4%. This does not mean that Poles are pre-biased to
any news. One of the most frequently mentioned benefits of an attractive
food is its diversity, and this naturally opens the possibility of placing on
the daily menu new dishes, including those inspired by the cuisines of the
world. There is a natural curiosity for new tastes in Poles, but also new
solutions and new dishes. Culinary curiosity is much stronger in young
people who are not burdened with family responsibilities and daily routine
of home two-dish dinner. More open to new ideas are also women and
people with higher level of education. What is the basis of Polish meal?
Meat, of course.
Poles are strongly accustomed to meat. Vegetarianism, which
some people would consider popular, according to statistics
isn’t so popular at all. Only 1% of people surveyed are
vegetarians, while 95% admitted that being a vegetarian is not
an option for them. Meat dishes can be prepared in a variety
of ways, but by far the most of Poles like fried meat best. No
wonder that the cutlet, whether chopped or minced , or just
simple chicken breast breaded and fried is the number one in
the Polish menu.

of pink grapefruit which target is to „open” the stomach. Or
you can eat a blend of different fruits and vegetables
