Elements of the Anti-Doping Process
•All members of the National Authorities, participants, officials, etc. sign
annual agreement to adhere to the anti-doping code.
•Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) may be requested by participants
•Two types of testing are required by the present code
• In- Competition (During event)
• Out of Competition (OOC)
• Pool of competitors determined annually, across racing
category and classes
• Location of driver inputted into ADAMS
Results
•UIM has an Anti-Doping Working Group led by Dr. Stephane Berman
•UIM has been deemed fully compliant with the WADA requirements since 2011
•Since 2011,
99 IC tests have been carried out
30 OOC tests have been carried out
(Out of the 129 tests, 30 of these tests have been carried out in 2014)
Cost has been 18,000 Euro’s for 2014
•Additional tests have been carried out by National Authorities
•3 Adverse Analytical Findings since 2011
•UIM has long advocated a reduction or elimination of OOC testing because
it is believed that there is very little benefit gained by long term body development
•In 2015, there has been agreement to reduce the number of OOC tests with a
corresponding increase in IC tests.

Questions
What is the “tailored list” of banned substances to test for in
motor racing?
Could/Would the motorsport organizations present a common view
on the subject?
