What is a Hormone
Implant?
• Pelleted synthetic, or natural
hormones
• Placed under the skin or muscle
• Improve rate of gain, or feed
efficiency
• Can also be feed additive
Why use Feed Additives,
and Hormone Implants?
• Performance Stimulants
• Increase Profits
• Can use antibiotics at a lower
level than to treat sick animals
• Can you think of a reason not to do
this?

labeled as “medicated”.

• Mix Uniformly
