Automobiles

“One Clear-Cut Rule” when
police lawfully stop a car, they
don’t need a warrant to search if
they have reason to believe
vehicle holds evidence of a crime.
The Exclusionary Law

Evidence obtained illegally by
police cannot be used against the
person.
Drug Testing
Can be conducted w/o warrant
 Courts uphold laws of random drug
testing of students who want to
participate in extracurricular
activities

Wiretapping
needs a court order to wiretap
 Info can be used in court only in
certain circumstances.
 Today, wiretapping regulation on email, pagers and cell phone calls.

