develop technological solutions
Fields of activity:
• Advanced polymeric materials and technologies incl. nanotechnologies
• Environmental protection
• Medicine: genomics techniques, polymeric materials and technologies for dentistry, biomaterials
• Agriculture and food industry: DNA tests for vegetables and animal farms, polymeric food,
biodegradable food packaging
6. Framework Programme in our region
• ca. 100 project applications submitted
• 19 projects launched (mainly IT, medicine, polymers)
• 16 from universities; only 3 from companies
• only (?) 4 project leaders
All projects got support from Regional 6.FP Contact Point affiliated
with Szczecin Technical University.
Strong limitations in using Framework Programs directly as tools for
regional development
Message to European Commission
• There is a need for regular foresight programs in
regions.
• Too many restrictions in EU programs for large
companies.
• Need for guidance in creating innovation-support
financing instruments in NAC regions.
Thanks for attention
