Transcript Mario Advance Raceway

• Mario needs to beat
Bowser at their next
race at the Mario
Advance Raceway.
• He needs our help to
perfect his “powerslide” capability on a
difficult turn.
• The track has a turn
measuring 132 ft, this is
where he will “powerslide”
• The Turn.
• Can Mario shorten his
time around the turn
from 12 seconds to 9
seconds based on the
tire restrictions of 300
ft/sec?
• He would like to know
the vector valued
position function of the
kart during the turn.
• He would like to see the
simulation of the turn
depicting velocity and
acceleration.
• Navigate through the Maple code.
• Mario would feel this acceleration, answer is
explained in Maple Code.
• He could make the turn in less time than 9
seconds, he can make the turn in 8.796
seconds.
• Speed is the rate of
motion, or equivalently
the rate of change of
distance. Speed is a
scalar quantity with
dimensions
length/time; Speed is
thus the magnitude
component of velocity.
• velocity is defined as
the rate of change of
position. It is a vector
physical quantity; both
speed and direction are
required to define it.
