Chapter Establishment: reach out to NH, CT, RI offer guidance,
assistance
Region-specific LEED ® info, services, resources and LEED®
product, Define unique needs of the region, supply chain issues,
compile environmental info, etc.

Aim of the South Central Region
The aim of the South Central Region, through the
Regional Council, is to foster connections and
networks that build the capacity to effectively
transform local markets by:
– Connecting Chapters with each other and with the
National Organization
– Share knowledge and provide mentoring
– Sharing resources whenever possible
– Serve as the voice for green building in Louisiana,
Texas and Oklahoma

Purpose Statements
The Purpose of the South Central Regional Council is to
foster:
– Organizational Excellence
– Educational development and Outreach
– Advocacy and Influence
South Central Region
Purpose one - Priority one – Organizational Excellence
The South Central Region will be a well governed organization with open and
productive communication from all Chapters.
Goal #1
• All Chapters of the SCR will be fully established, effectively functioning
and actively involved the Regional Council.
Objective A
– LA Organizing Group become an established, functioning Chapter
• Complete 501 (c ) (3) documentation
• Complete Articles and bylaws
• Advance communication among members
Objective B
– Full participation from all chapters in all aspects of the Regional Council
– Each Chapter is to participate in leadership, direction and fulfillment of Regional
Council goals and objectives
– Each Chapter is to share in the responsibility of making the SCR a success

Purpose one - Priority one – Organizational Excellence
Goal #2
Optimize and share resources and avoid the duplication of
effort whenever possible.
Objective A
• Representatives from each Chapter will keep the SCR updated on
Chapter business.
Objective B
• SCR Representatives will help connect Chapter committees and
members with similar interests and objectives.

communication between Chapters.

• Effective and regular inter-Chapter communication
• 3 face to face meetings per year rotated throughout Chapters
• Monthly conference calls for the first three months. Revisit
conference call schedule in May 2006. Update plan and schedule at
that time.
