Berlin Conference Simulation
You have been placed in a group which
will represent one of the imperial powers
of the 19th century
Looking at your blurb & your bell work, prioritize
with your group what your country MOST wants
from the land they are looking to gain
Rules of the Conference – 3 Rounds
One group member will come up when called and place a circle on
an area of Africa that your country is claiming
The group member must state: (Country) claims this land
Any country that does not claim there land can have it taken away if
another group calls them out
Once Circle has been placed on the Board, decision is Final
Once a land is claimed, all remaining circles CAN NOT overlap
claimed land
UNLESS the circle is a country that already owns that land
After each simulation, we will have a reflection / discussion period to
discuss the positives / negatives of each decision made
At the end of the simulation, we will look at all three rounds, and
vote on a winning country
