Human-Environment Interaction
By: Luke Bailey
• There are many ways that the people in the Bahamas
affect and interact with the environment. Two big ones
are fishing and tourism which pollutes the water. Fishing
is a big industry in some of the Bahaman islands it
produces lots of money for making the islands tourist
attractions and hotel resorts like “Atlantis”. With all of
the Cruise Liners that come in and out every day it’s
polluting the water around the islands killing lots of fish
making the fishing industry go down. Another Human
Environment Interaction in the Bahamas is the chlorine
runoff into the salt water killing even more fish around
the islands. Now the fishing around the islands isn’t as
popular.

Description of Place
• The Bahamas is surrounded by the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. It has
2,387 islets though the Bahamas. There are many trees and
beaches everywhere. There are no mountains in the area. The
Bahamas is made of 29 islands. The Bahamas have buildings, roads,
so the people can go to work or go place to place. The Bahamas is
near the equator so the weather there is warm and sometimes hot,
in the winter it can reach to about 30 degrees Fahrenheit (that is
the record in the Bahamas in the winter). The boat there are
popular because of tours, cruises, they also use them because of
the water for transportation. The population of the Bahamas is
about 330,000 people. Last, but not least the Atlantis Resort which
is an attraction there. The beaches there have amazing views.
