Geita Region that lies in North West Tanzania is a new region
which was established in march 2012.
盖塔省位于坦桑尼亚的西北部, 是2012年3月成立的一个新省份。
The Region is endowed with natural resources which include
deposits of Gold and has one of the biggest Gold mine in Tanzania
known as Geita Gold Mine which started operations in 2000.
该省拥有包括金矿床在内的自然资源, 有2000年开始运营的坦
桑尼亚最大金矿之一盖塔金矿。

Other resources include forests, covering 2710.1 sq kms or nearly
13.6 % of the region’s land area.

其它资源包括覆盖2710.1平方公里或接近该省土地面积13.6%的
森林资源。

The Region to start with has decided to ask our Chinese friends to
assist and concentrate their investments in Geita Town the
headquarter of the Region.
该省已经首先决定请中国朋友提供帮助, 并将资金集中投在省
会城市盖塔市。


Geita Town is the headquarter of the new Geita Region which
was established in March, 2012.

盖塔市是2012年3月新设立的盖塔省的省会。

According to the National Population and Housing Census of
August 2012, the Town Council has a population of 192,707 at
the annual average growth rate of 3.4%.

按照2012年8月全国人口及住房普查统计结果，盖塔市有192，
707人，年均自然增长率为3.4%。

Geita Town Council per-Capita income is between Tshs.
716,209 and 910,824 as per 2013 prices. The Town economy
depends primarily on Agriculture which contributes more than
73% of the District GDP.

按照2013年价格计算，盖塔市人均收入在716，209和910，
824坦桑尼亚先令之间。经济主要依赖农业，农业对该县GDP
贡献率超过73%。

Geita Town Council lies between 1,100 to 1,300 meters above the sea
level.
盖塔市地处海拔1，100至1，300米之间。

It lies between 2o8 to 3o28 South of the Equator and 32o45 to 37o East of
Greenwich.
位于赤道以南2°8至3°28，格林威治以东32°45至37°之间。

The Council covers 1080.3sq Km.

The Town Council has a moderate Temperatures between 17oC to 30oC.
盖塔市气温温和，介于摄氏17-30度之间。

The area within the Council gets an average of 1200mm of
rainfall per annum, which normally sets during October to
January and between March and mid-May. The Environment
humidity ranges between 35% and 60% during hot and rain
season respectively. The Council is characterized by loam, clay
and sand soil suitable for growing varied range of crops.

盖塔市区域内年均降雨量1200毫米，正常在十月至一月和三
至五月两个时间段降雨。环境湿度在热季和雨季分别为35%和

Geita town agricultural production contribute more than 73% of
the District GDP. Moreover more than 77.2 % of the district
labour force are engaged on agriculture.


substantial deposit, minimally exploited by large and small scale

This belt has been most productive in Tanzania with a
continuous history of activities from 1932 to date. Areas with
intensive small scale mining are found in Mgusu and
Nyakabale villages,while those with large scales mining are
Mtakuja, Nyankanga and Nyakabale too.
