THE BRAND CABEÇA DE TOIRO
The name “Cabeça de Toiro” owes it’s origin to the bull
fighting tradition in the Tejo region, a land of plains and
terroir of quality wines for 2000 years.

Cabeça de Toiro comes from the “Tejo” region from the single estate of the Enoport Group in this area
– “Quinta S. Joao Batista” , S. João Batista Estate ( in the map bellow).

“Quinta S. João Batista”
 S. João Batista Estate has a total area of around 115

 Among the varietals planted the majority are for red wines
(around 76 ha) .
 Traditional Portuguese varietals: Castelão, Trincadeira Preta,

Cabernet Sauvignon (40%).
Is certified for the production of wines with DoTejo and Tejo
Regional Wine.

THE TEJO REGION
Located in the center of Portugal, It is
a region of not very steep relief that
includes a great variety of micro
climates and types of soils. The wines
produced here show an excellent and
increasing quality that breaks a little
with the characteristics of the past. It
lies in a transition zone climate, with
strong
Mediterranean
influence,
Tejo
Region
followed by a descent over Atlantic
continental, depending on latitude and
topography. The alcohol content of the
wine produced in this region takes
higher values ​due to heating of the
grapes by the reflection of the sun on
the white sands where the vineyard is
planted, thus giving rise to full-bodied
wine with a strong character.

TOURIGA NACIONAL
It’s considered one of Portugal’s finest grapes. Touriga Nacional gives inky wines, full-
bodied, powerful with exceptional aromas. It frequently shows blackberry, blueberry,
rock rose and rosemary notes. Its renown has caused because its spread throughout all
regions from the northernmost corners down to the Algarve.
Touriga Nacional wines age well and gain aromatic complexity with barrel aging.

CASTELÃO
The most widely-grown red grape variety in Portugal. It is highly adaptable to different
climate conditions and its remarkable versatility enables winemakers to make distinctive
wines – powerful and intense .

Intense in ripe red fruits with nice toasty notes.
Flavour
Fruty, smooth, full-bodied with an harmonious ending
Winemaking
Total destemming, extended skin maceration and alcoholic fermentation at 82ºF.
Maturation
Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels.
When and how to
Drink
It is ideal to accompany red meats with sauces feathered game and structured
cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 64ºF.
