• Dynamic ring coupling for train carriage exchange
without reconfiguration
– Train coupling topology is common in multi-unit trains for efficient operation,
however, this would require auto configuration for railway operator. So a
traditional coupling topology need to be tuned to fit with 2, 3 or even 4 cars
exchanges .
– In consideration of each car network has the same setting but with different
IP as well as to limit multicast flows to certain ports
– Each car has the DHCP server for port based DHCP network for easy
maintenance

• QoS base by VLAN (Advanced QoS)
Most switches are able to adapt QoS function but the device must be able to
acknoledge QoS packet or by port based QoS. However, through VLAN, the QoS
setting can be simple. The “Advanced QoS” is the best and most convenience
solution for traffic-management no matter the devices supporting QoS or not.
Users can do planning at application level and make network
performance more predictable and bandwidth utilization
more effective.
For example, IP cam and VOIP phone are in the same network but
need to prioritize VOIP packet in VLAN1, with Advanced QoS, the VOIP
packet will be sent in prior to video multicast packet where user don’t
need to worry whether VOIP device is able to read QoS packet.

• Mac based DHCP Server
–
The MAC-based DHCP simply assigns an
IP address to a client according to its MAC
address pre-setting inside the switch. In
the switch configuration, users just only
enable DHCP server and set one desired
IP address to MAC address. This feature
fits for one level network structure.

• Hybrid DHCP Port & VLAN based distribution
By supporting DHCP option 82 and Port-based
DHCP server simultaneously, not only the clients
can get the fixed IP address assigned by the port
number or VLAN ID where the device is connected,
but the relay agents get the fixed IP address
according to the port number it attached
Most of switch products are not built in DHCP
Option 82 server but relay agent function where
network need another DHCP Option 82 server
which might be a difficulty in harsh network like
vehicle, train or track side
