Eclipse HX E-FIB CARD
E-FIB – FIBRE NETWORKING CARD
Dual redundant optical transceivers for networking matrices together to form a fibre optic ring.
The fibre ring provides 1024 audio channels shared across all linked matrices (15 matrices in
total) in the ring.
The Fibre ring carries audio only. Matrix to Matrix data is carried separately using a LAN
The system also provides automatic switchover from ring A to ring B and Auto loopback in case
of any breaks in the ring
Two cards can be placed in a matrix to provide card redundancy as well ring redundancy

Matrix A,

E-FIB – STATUS LEDS
A failure on transceiver A then the card
switches automatically to transceiver B
The card status LED flashes to indicate which
card is master and receiving audio
Transceiver LEDs on a fibre card which
is correctly wired and running on Ring A

Eye Safety !!!
This laser based single mode transceiver is a
Class 1 product. It complies with IEC 608251/A2: 2001 and FDA performance standards for
laser products (21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11)
except for deviations pursuant to Laser Notice
50, dated July 26, 2001.

E-FIB – FIBRE CONNECTION
Wire up the matrices following the HX
system numbers with the LOWEST IP
address as system 1 / node 1,
For primary ring A wire from system 1 >
system 2 > system 3 etc..
For redundant ring B wire from system 3
> system 2 > system 1

MAIN FIBRE RING
SECOND FIBRE RING
EACH FIBRE CARD HAS 2 FIBRE TRANSCEIVERS
THE CONNECTOR TYPE IS - DUPLEX LC
TX1/RX1 IS USED FOR THE MAIN RING
TX2/RX2 IS USED FOR SECOND RING
USE SINGLE MODE FIBRE 9/125

E-FIB – HX FIBRE SETUP
To configure a fibre network the following rules have to be followed
► Declare the fibre cards in HX for each matrix
► Wire up the matrices following the HX system numbers with the LOWEST IP address as
system 1 / node 1
► For primary ring A wire from system 1 > system 2 > system 3 etc..
► For redundant ring B wire from system 3 > system 2 > system 1
HX allows each E-FIB (matrix) card to set a port count for the number of audio channels to be
allocated to the matrix (trunk lines). Different matrices can be set different port counts (trunk
lines). A max of 192 trunks per matrix can be set
The general recommendation for the E-FIB count port
► If the network is below 5x matrices set all port counts to the maximum 192 port count
► As the network grows above 6x matrices trailer the port count per matrix using the trunk usage
messages from matrix event log.
