What is the WI-I/O-9-U2
The WI-I/O-9-U2 extends the functionality provided by the earlier WI-I/O-9-X
WI-Series modules.
The WI-I/O-9-U2 is the first long haul meshing I/O Radio that provides on-board
I/O and has provision for extra expansion modules (Weidmuller WI-I/O-EX-1-S
or MODBUS devices)
The WI-I/O-9-U2 can monitor the following types of signals
Digital on/off - Contact Closure or Switch
Analogue – Tank level, Motor speed, etc
Pulsed - Frequency signal – Metering, accumulated total, etc
Internal – Supply voltage, Supply failure, battery status, etc.

Versions Available
The WI-I/O-9-U2 can be configured in 2 Different ways
Self-Healing MESH provides enhanced features, including IP addressing,
suitable/ scalable for small to large networks allowing thousands of modules to
exist in a system, and allowing automatic routing of messages through repeater
stations.
WIBNet operation with existing Weidmuller wireless I/O devices (WI-I/O-9-X
series modules).
Operating Temp
-40 to +140 °F, -40 to +60°C,

Self-Healing Mesh
Weidmuller Self-Healing Mesh Wireless Protocol
A Wireless Mesh networking protocol used to route messages between WI-I/O-9U2 modules
Provides automatic re-routing of radio path in case of lost node.
Self learning – to keep shortest path
Network loop free
Self-Healing Mesh is not compatible with existing WI-I/O-9-x I/O Modules and
Gateways

MESH
With the WI-I/O-9-U2 Mesh Protocol it will find the shortest
path to the destination
This is done by learning the shortest routes from sending
periodic route requests
If a repeater fails then all communications behind repeater will also
fail
