Zhengzhou Subway Project
Project Overview
Customer Requirements (Phase I)
• Service Expansion: PIS, video surveillance, train control,
and trunking service in one network in the future
• High Bandwidth: minimum 6 Mbits/s DL and 6 Mbits/s UL
per train, 48 Mbits/s UL in the future
3 Phases:
• Phase I (2014): 26.2 km, one control center, 20 stations, 26
trains, PIS and video surveillance services
• Phase II (2016): 55 trains, train control services
• Phase III (2023): 67 trains, command and dispatch services

Huawei eLTE Solution: Flexible Bandwidth Configuration
Wi-Fi
Huawei eWBB LTE
• Fixed 20-MHz channel bandwidth in 2.4-GHz band
• Flexible bandwidth configuration based on available frequency
resources: 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 MHz
• Carrier aggregation to support more than 20 MHz
Wi-Fi: Unable to Support < 20-MHz Channel Bandwidth

Leaky
Coaxial
Cable
Wi-Fi
• One AP to support 200m coverage, so too many APs, high
costs, and difficult network deployment
• Difficult coverage in winding tunnels
• One RRU to connect with leaky cable for stable coverage,
with range up to 1.5 km because of large RRU output power
(4 x 10W)
• Use of commercially available leaky cable for low network
deployment cost
Wi-Fi: Poor Coverage, More APs, and High Costs
