D-Link Features Roadmap
11n Business Access Point
Meeting the market trend of GREEN.
Phase in the most efficiency power adapter and state-of-the-art design
Reducing the power consumption during off-duty period by adding the
“Wireless Schedule” feature.
Work with PoE Switch to be powered on/off.
Resolving the address depletion problem associated with IPv4 -IPv6*
More and more mobile devices/application operating in public network,
therefore, IPv4 is going to run out.
D-Link 11n SMB/Business class access points will provide the capability
to integrate the IPv4 and IPv6 environment.
Integrate the security application -- MS Network Access
Protection
Network Access Protection technology is led by Microsoft, which is
policy enforcement technology used in next generation Windows
platforms.
D-Link 11n SMB/Business class access points will support NAP to help
administrators enforce compliance with health policies for wireless
network access or communication.
*: Available by 2H in 2009
D-Link Features Roadmap
11n Business Access Point
Addressing the VoWLAN application – Seamless Roaming*
Aside from the supporting to 802.11f, D-Link 11n SMB/Business class
access points will support 802.11k and 11r (just be ratified this year) to
ensure the voice and video applications working well while the client is
in motion. The WFA test plan is under developing now.
Utilizing the wireless bandwidth – Multicast Streaming
With the implementation of IGMP snooping and other advanced
technologies, D-Link SMB/Business AP will address the multicast
streaming solutions for those bandwidth-sensitive applications, such as
Gaming, Video, and Audio.
D-Link SMB/Business AP can effectively filter the multicast / broadcast
traffic to facilitate mission-critical applications.
Centralizing wireless network management – SNMP Tools
D-view 6 Wireless Plug-in Module
AP Manager II
Clustering multiple access points – AP Array*
A clustering feature lets you manage multiple D-Link SMB/Business AP
in unison. AP Array is designed for model-dependent, middle-scale
deployment.
*802.11k & r: Available by 1H /2010
*AP Array: Available by Q1/2009

SharePort™:
SharePort™ uses the integral USB 2.0 port to share MFP (Multiple Function Printer) with all computers
on the LAN or WLAN. This makes it easy for users to share access to MFP, printers and storage devices
that normally require moving the USB device for direct PC USB port connectivity. Using D-Link Network
USB Utility, each PC can check the usage status of USB device and use/access MFP just in few clicks.

DD-WRT
DD-WRT is open-source third party firmware that founded by
Sebastian Gotchall (a.k.a BrainSlayer)
DD-WRT is widely used by hobbyist, student, home users, even
ISP
DD-WRT is very famous because it is very easy to used and rich
of advanced features, also it is FREE and well maintained
DD-WRT
Currently D-Link SOHO Routers that compatible with DD-WRT are
1. DIR-300 (Atheros SoC Based)
2. DIR-320 (Broadcom SoC Based)
3. DIR-400 (Atheros SoC Based) not available in Indonesia yet
