Snags
• 4,316,150 euros is the budget; the grant is 50%,
requiring 50% match funding from institutions
• The grant is for five years and has to be divided
between seven partners
• All the problems of international project
management and the requirement to observe
standard processes and protocols
• Language, culture and time zones
But…
• Matched funding in kind and using costs
already incurred, eg performing rights
• Mutual support in solving common
problems
• Economies of scale
• Combined impact
• The meetings are held in Madrid
Benefits
• Promoting students at a key stage in their
careers
• Capturing work that otherwise evaporates
• Getting to grips with key issues: IT and web
streaming; metadata; IP and performance
rights
• Upskilling technical staff
• Getting the best out of infrastructure
• Helping us to do what we should be doing
anyway…
