Test items and their schedule should be clarified. For example, what is the
implication of the test for IPTV.
Network environment, which is going to be the mixture of R&D and commercial
networks: if they turned to be all R&D networks, it is easy to support high-speed
traffic such as video. If they turned to be all commercial networks, we do not
have to worry about background traffic, but need further investment.
Further involvement of other participants: TTA will check further involvement of
the government initiatives (till the next meeting). CCSA will check the possibility
of further involvement by the company who are interested in IPTV performance
measurement.
Other methods beyond RTP/RTCP passive measurement.
After the discussion by ad hoc team, the following test plan was proposed and
agreed by the meeting, which is given in 11thNGN-WG_021.

Agreed Test Scenarios & Actions
• Scenarios 2 & 4 are completed
• Scenarios 1, 3, & 5 are considered as the slight variations of the
scenarios 2 & 4. Ad-hoc group agreed not to conduct the testing since
the testing of the scenarios 2 & 4 fulfilled the objectives
• Thus Phase I & II are considered to be completed
• Scenario 6 & 7 are our target for joint testing efforts for Phase III & IV
• For the reference the following are original 7 scenarios
–
–
–
–
–
Scenario 1: Single Call Server within a single NGN Network Domain without PSTN
Scenario 2: Call Servers across multiple IP Network Domains without PSTN
Scenario 3: Single Call Server within a single NGN Network Domain with PSTN
Scenario 4: Call Servers across multiple NGN Network Domains with PSTN
Scenario 5: Call Servers across multiple NGN Network Domains with PSTN & Value
Added Services
– Scenario 6: Performance Evaluation with RTP/RTCP-based Measurement extensions
– Scenario 7: Call Servers across multiple NGN Network Domains with PSTN, Value
Added Services and RACF Involvement

Periodic and constant measurement
Measurement intervals and other details to be defined
IPTD, IPDV, IPLR of C-K, C-J, J-K, J-C, K-C, K-J
Scenario 6-2: Performance evaluation of MoIP service among CPEs
– Measure RTP/RTCP performance of MoIP(Multimedia(Voice/Audio/Video) over IP)
service based on CS and/or IMS
– CPE-to-CPE performance evaluation
•
Scenario 6-3: Performance evaluation of MoIP service with two MPMs
– Measure RTP/RTCP performance of MoIP service based on CS and/or IMS
– CPE – MPM1 – MPM2 – CPE performance evaluation
•
Scenario 6-4: Performance evaluation of MoIP service with three MPMs
– Measure RTP/RTCP performance of MoIP service based on CS and/or IMS
– MPMs send/append evaluated performances
– CPE – MPM1 – MPM2 – MPM3 – CPE performance evaluation

Measurement Segments by MPM
CPE – MPM1 – MPM2 – MPM3 – CPE (segment: MPM-to-MPM, MPM-to-CPE)
Note: MPM stands for Management of Performance Measurement for NGN. It is based on the ITU-T
Recommendation Draft Y.mpm. MPM used throughout this document is a system realized based on the
capabilities defined in Y.mpm.
