Printer Adaptor Instructions
Step 1. For a Mac, go to network preferences/ select
built-in-ethernet and click on TCP/IP tab and annotate
your Computer’s ethernet IP address. For PC, go to
Control Panel/ Network Connections and select TCP/IP,
then annotate IP address.
Step 2. Change the Ethernet IP Address/subnet/router to
: 169.254.98.201 / 255.255.0.0/169.254.98.200 Click
apply now.

Step 3. For a Mac Click on the Proxies Tab,
write down your proxy settings and remove all
proxy selections in the left window under
“select a proxy server to configure”.
For a PC, change the proxy within
the web browser you will be using.

Step 4. Open internet explorer and type
http://169.254.98.200/ in the address and press
enter.
Step 5. Enter admin in user ID and “public” in
password block and click “OK”.

Step 4. The Admin window appears. Type in the device
Name (location#-Room# Printer #) I.e. 9858-205K-2.
Step 5. Check static for IP address Mode. Leave the
default IP address in the device.
Step 6. Leave Admin and Password default.
Step 7 Click on Save button.

Step 8. Click on Reboot window when it appears
Step 9. The reboot in 3 second window will appear.

Step 10. Once the printer adapter completes the reboot
process it will display the Information page.

Step 11. Click on the Security Tab and check Enable
WEP.
Step12 Select the WEP Key 1
Step 13 Select Deny encrypted Data
Step14 Select Open if Airspace/Proxim/Dell and Shared if
Apple wireless network.
Step 15 Type in the HEX code for the 5 or 13 digit WEP
encryption password. Remember there is 2 hex values for
every 1 ASCII code. Go to
http://d21c.com/sookietex/ASCII2HEX.html if you don’t know
how to do the conversion Click on Save

Step 16. Click on Reboot window when it appears
Step 17. The reboot in 3 second window will appear.
Step 18 Plug in the wireless device to the printer with a
CAT5e cable and plug in the Wireless print adapter into
the Printer for power using the Y connector.
Step19 Test the printer to be sure it works..
