Service cost is 14% less than the other guy’s on a ‘per kilobit’
calculation - Their cost is 9.75 cents per kilobit ($49.95 for ‘up to’ 512 kbps
download speed) compared with just 8.57 cents per kilobit ($59.99 for ‘up to’ 700

Cool Technology 1. HughesNet is certified ‘IPoS’ – Internet Protocol over Satellite – a standard
defined by the Telecommunication Industry Association in December 2003.
IPoS enables the Hughes broadband systems for superior inroute
performance, efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
2. DVB-S2 with ACM. DVB-S2 is the latest satellite digital compression
technology – but what makes the HughesNet product so powerful is the
use of ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation). ACM provides for real-time
adjustments by the network for increasing power or bit rates to help
provide for more reliability for a consumer’s system in bad weather. While
other systems may lose connection in bad weather – the Hughes system is
designed to stay connected as long as possible. It allows the system to
increase the power and decrease the bits in order to stay on the air. When
the weather clears, the system can automatically increase the bits and
reduce the power.
3. The consumer never knew it happened – but they stayed on line. We call it
‘four wheel drive for your satellite system’. Hey, it really is rocket
science…and we’ve got the best.
HUGHES PROPRIETARY
Hughes 6/14/2006
More Cool-cutting edge Technology
21. Industry-leading triple DES (Data Encryption Standard) technology with
conditional access security – to help protect your data. We can’t stop you
from putting your social security number on the Internet – but our system is
designed to protect the transmission of that data from the bad guys.
22. New HN7000S product incorporates Hughes’ advanced Performance
Enhancing Proxy (PEP) technology by optimizing the TCP (transmission
control protocol) over satellite for increased throughput performance.
23. HughesNet implements patented TurboPage software to accelerate HTTP
(Hypertext Transfer Protocol – a primary request/response protocol for
transferring data on the worldwide web) traffic for faster browser access.
24. Unique ‘fetching’ technology begins pulling down web site graphics and
images as soon as you go to the page…making your browsing experience
much, much better!
