Device Grouping
• IGRS groups: co-ordinate devices for
applications and services
– Devices collaborate without network configuration
setup
– Device group is scalable without complexity issues
• IGRS defines:
– Resource organization framework
– Control model
– Service discovery
– Security mechanism

18
IGRS AV Profile changes
• Fully utilize IGRS device grouping & service
integration technologies
– Resource re-organization model: add service decomposition and
grouping requirements to enable dynamic device grouping setup,
service collaboration and work flow
• On-demand resource optimization to allow for more efficient service
reusability and total resource savings if used in multiple application
profiles
• Service distribution among multiple logic devices to reduce computations
required in any one central device thus reduce system costs
• Simplified approach: extend device interaction to internet service
discovery and grouping implementations in a future version
• Consider UPnP AV compatibility
– Normatively reference relevant parts when appropriate, such as some
of commonly used AV-related services etc.

19
Service Decomposition
• Decompose services in all profiles to enhance service
reusability and reduce complexity of implementation
