– A Traffic Channel (TC) is acquired every PTT. The TC is released upon PTT release.
– Benefit: Frees system resources between PTT exchanges for other users
– Trade-off: Two-way conversations may be interrupted by temporary system busies.

Message Trunking
– A TC is acquired on the initial PTT and held after PTT release for called units to
respond. If no activity is detected during a programmed hold time, the TC is
released.
– Benefit: Uninterrupted two-way conversations.
– Trade-off: Less system resources are available to other calls.

Priority Monitor ID 1 & 2 – Automatically collects subscriber units to a high priority
GID call (e.g. dispatcher, supervisor) even if on a low priority GID call.

Late Entry- Permits subscriber units to join a call already in progress after powering
on or entering system coverage.

Broadcast Call- A “one-way call” to a GID talk group for priority alerts and
emergencies in which units cannot respond (select target GID, Press BC key, Press
PTT, the GID is BC called).
