Control Modes - Local Control
Control
Through Terminnal Strips
Monitor
Through Network
Control
Through Magelis HMI
Network
• Control local mode selection is defined by input I.6: 0= Local mode
• Control local channel setting: 0= Local Terminal, 1= Local HMI
• Local Stop Command will always be responded regardless of the control mode
34
Control Modes - Remote Control
Terminals only for Signal Input
Control Command
Through Network
HMI only for Monitoring
Network
• Control Remote mode selection is defined by input I.6: 1= Remote mode
• The bumpless parameter determines the behavior of outputs O1 & O2 when changing
control mode. If this parameter is enable the outputs remain the same position when
there is a changing control mode.
• Local Stop Command will always be responded regardless of the control mode
35
Operating Modes
 Pre-configured operating mode





Overload : The Start/Stop of the motor is realized by a mechanism other
than the controller
Independent : Direct on line full voltage non reversing motor starting
Reverser : Direct on line full voltage reversing motor starting
Two-Step : Reduced voltage starting motor
Two-Speed : Two-Speed motor for motor types : Dahlander, Pole
Changer
 Custom operating mode

PowerSuite logic editor : provides logic functions (Boolean, Register,
Timers, Counter,…) that manage the controller behavoir to create a user
mode
Note : The selected operating mode determine the behavior of all
controller inputs and outputs.
36
Operating Modes Example

Direct-On-Line starting motor
The switch Start/stop
command the relay

as an active signal is
present on the input
37
Operating Modes Example
The diagram is an example of the Tesys T
reduced voltage starting motor such as
Wye-Delta (see picture) or Open transition
primary resistor or open transition

commands contactor
KM1then KM2 and in a
second time the contactor

current falling below the
motor step 1 to 2 threshold
