You become anxious
and scared and decide
to wait another seven
years.
BEGGIN THE MYTH OF THE MINOTAUR:
You are Theseus, the young Athenian hero whom became
legendary for the slaying of the mythological Minotaur, a half
man half bull creature that eats human flesh and bone. Every
seven years, seven young men and seven young women are
taken from Athens on a boat with white sails and are made
sacrifices. They're sent to the labyrinth beneath king Minos'
castle on the island of Crete, where the Minotaur will devour
them.
You volunteer
yourself as a sacrifice
with the goal of
slaying the beast.
You have been wandering for hours and the
other men and women have separated and
become lost.
Find the others and
follow the string.
You will find your own
way and you don’t
care about the others
You have followed the string back to the
beginning of the labyrinth and the guards see
you. They will kill you for trying to escape.
Go back and
face your fear.
Attempt to fight
the guards for
your freedom.
You have volunteered as a sacrifice and you arrive on Crete, your bravery has
deeply impressed King Minos’ daughter, the beautiful Ariadne, she falls in
love with you and wants to help you.
Reject
Ariadne’s help,
you can do this
on your own.
Accept
Ariadne’s
help
You are selfish and in able to learn from your
mistakes. As a result of this your string ran out
hours ago and you will now be condemned to
wonder aimlessly until you die.
Go back to the beginning.
As you stand outside the Minotaur’s lair you
notice that the other young men and women
are petrified with fear.
Bring them into the
lair with you for
protection.
Tell them to stay
outside.
Athena, the Goddess of war is disappointed in
your shameful choice and urges you to choose
bravery and honor over fear and shame.
Fear and shame
Bravery and
honor
You enter the Minotaur’s lair alone. The beast has
the body of a man however the head is that of a
bull. The creature charges at you with its raiser
sharp horns and as you draw your sward. You
begin to run at the charging monster and behead
the beast with your mighty sward.
Follow the string back
to the beginning
Your lust for danger drives
you to find a new more
adventurous way back.
Ariadne presents to you a
ball of string and a sward.
Take the sward
and the string
and thank her.
The string is
useless all you
will need is the
sward for
defeating the
Minotaur.
OH NO! The Minotaur attacks the other victims
and devours them all before your very eyes. As a
result you are in shock and before you can make
any rational decisions the Minotaur devours you
as well.
Go back to the beginning
OH NO! You are severely outnumbered by the
guards. As a result of your arrogance they catch
you and kill you for trying to escape.
Go back to the beginning.
You follow the string back to the beginning of
the labyrinth and the guards see you.
Present the head of
the Minotaur to the
guards.
You just defeated the
Minotaur and the guards
should be easy.
You have entered the labyrinth however your
arrogance has resulted in you becoming lost
forever. The Goddess Athena gives you the
option of returning to Ariadne for help or
continuing on your own.
Go on alone
Go back to Princess
Ariadne
You present the head of the
Minotaur and as a result of your
victory the guards free you and
the other young men and
women. From this day forth you
will be forever known as a
legendary hero amongst
ordinary humans.
View your bravery
You enter the Labyrinth with the sward hidden
within your tunic. You tie the string to the
beginning of the labyrinth and unwind it as you
move forward. You come to many bends and
splits and the next split has two directions, to
one side is a path lined with bones while the
other is clearly empty.
You are prepared to fight.
You’re life is more important
than the other youths and
maidens, you send them into
the Minotaur’s’ lair and save
yourself.
OH NO! Athena smites you where you stand for
your dishonorable behavior and your soul is
transported to the underworld.
Go back to the beginning
OH NO! You have become lost in the labyrinth
and strayed from your destiny, as a result you
and the other young sacrifices are now
