●THE ROMAN BATHS
- DISCOVERED IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY
- OPENED IN 1897.
- WERE IN USE FOR 400 YEARS.
The Terrace is lined with statues of Roman
Governors and military leaders.
Hot water at a temperature of 46°C has existed for thousands of years.
Romans believed this spring was the work of the ancient gods.
People from across the Roman Empire came to visit the sacred spring.

 JANE AUSTEN IS A WORLD FAMOUS ENGLISH NOVELIST.
 SHE LIVED 3 CENTURIES AGO.
 SHE HAS THOUSANDS OF FANS AROUND THE WORLD.
 HER 6 NOVELS HAVE BEEN TURNED INTO FILMS .
JANE AUSTEN WAS BORN IN 1775.
 SHE WAS THE 7TH CHILD IN A
FAMILY OF 8 CHILDREN.
 THE AUSTEN CHILDREN LIVED IN
AN ENVIRONMENT OF
LEARNING, CREATIVITY AND
DIALOGUE.
IN 1795, JANE MET A STUDENT FROM LONDON.
 THEY FELL IN LOVE.
 BUT JANE NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN BECAUSE HIS
PARENTS SENT HIM AWAY.
IN 1799 JANE WROTE PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
AND LATER SHE PUBLISHED NORTHANGER ABBEY.
When she was 27, Jane and her family moved to Bath.
This is when Jane's novels meet real life.
During her stay in BATH she met a young man
but she didn’t love him so…..
 …she refused to MARRY him.
 Her heroines react the same way :
they don’t marry for money or power, but for LOVE
JANE WROTE SENSE AND SENSIBILITY IN 1811 AND
LATER MANSFIELD PARK , EMMA AND ALSO
PERSUASION.
JANE AUSTEN DIED IN 1817
