1.
Research species
in the UK that used
to roam wild, but
have since
disappeared.
Write a story entitled
‘The Hunted’. Write it
from an animal’s point
of view. Describe their
feelings in detail.
Create a leaflet
making the public
aware of a species
of animal/plant in
your local area.
Research the work
of Wildlife Trust.
How do they help
animals in the UK
You may decide how
you present your
information.
Create an outdoor
game for Roman
children to play.
Research the Roman
Gods and design your
own God to worship –
why would it be
special?
2.
Find out about
objects that the
Romans used and
which ones we
don't use now.
Words and pictures
please.
Write a description
about arriving at one
of the Roman Vilas to
work for an important
Roman leader. (I was
nervous but also
excited as I
approached the Villa it looked so different
to my own home. I
looked up in awe at it
and I couldn’t help but
wonder, what would
my life bring...)
Plan a trip across
UK visiting only
Roman towns and
using as many
Roman roads as
possible. Indicate
their Roman names
and what they are
called today.
In 2004, the Hunting
with Dogs Act was
passed to ensure
that dogs could not
be used to hunt
wildlife. How do you
think this Act has
affected
communities?
Make a 3D model of
an item from
Roman times.
The Romans had a
very different dress
code to ours today –
compare clothing for
the rich and poor both
today and in Victorian
times. Which do you
think were more
practical, which would
you rather wear?
3.
Come up with a
song to remember
the Romans and
what they were like,
to help other
students learn
about them.
Research and learn a
Roman song or
dance.
Find as many
countries as
possible that the
Romans invaded.
Draw their flags
and write a
sentence to go with
each flag.
Investigate why
there are charities
specifically to help
wildlife. Why would
they want to help
wildlife? Where do
they get their money
from?
Make a Roman
shield out of
cardboard research the style
and colours
carefully.
If the Romans had
never have invaded
the UK, would it still
look like the country it
is today?
How different do you
think it would be and
why?
4.
Bake a tasty UK
treat of your choice.
Please choose ONE activity to complete each week and bring it to school on a MONDAY. Each week you should choose from a different
coloured column. Keep track of which activities you have done. For some of the activities you might need to ask for some information to help
you complete the task.
You should also be reading regularly at home, learning your spellings and practising your checkers (parents to check, tested in school).
