• Discuss the many religions before
Christianity (based on the teachings of Jesus
of Nazareth) spread and became Rome’s
official religion, that people in the Roman
Empire practiced.

• Caused Jews to rebel against
Roman rule
Why did Hadrian ban some
Jewish rituals?
• Hadrian thought banning Jewish
rituals would make Jews give up
their religion and stop rebelling.
