Botox Cosmetic contains botulinum toxin in a purified, injectable form that is used in cosmetic medical procedures to relax facial muscles. • Because of its ability to prevent facial muscles from tightening and creating creases, Botox injections have become highly popular for treating forehead and brow lines, as well as other types of facial wrinkles. Botox is formulated to help reduce profuse underarm perspiration. Anesthesia is not used; the area may be numbed with a cold pack or topical anesthetic before the injection. Side effects are extremely uncommon and can include headache, temporary eyelid droop, nausea, and short-term pain and redness at the injection site.
