What is EAV/BEA?

Every EAV instrument is an OHM
meter, i.e., it measures one thing electrical impedance.
How Does BEA Work?




Back in the late 1940's, Dr. Reinholt Voll,
MD began an investigation of the effects
of electricity on the human physiology.
In his studies, Dr. Voll used a technique
known as Impedance or OHM metering.
In simple terms, some materials are very
electrically conductive, for example,
metals like steel and copper.
Electricity flows very easily through
metals and therefore there is no
substantial resistance on the electricity
flowing through the metal.
Conductivity & Resistance


Other materials are not conductive, for
example, wood or rubber, and since these
materials are not conductive, their resistance
to electrical current is very high.
An OHM meter measures electrical resistance
(impedance), and it is also capable of
measuring conductance since the inverse of
resistance is conductance.
Basic Process of BEA




Dr. Voll found that if he tested the electrical conductance
on any general area of the human body, there was a fairly
high level of electrical resistance.
This is a curious point since we know that the body has a
large volume of electrically conductive fluids within it. But,
the skin is very resistant, by its nature to electrical current.
Dr. Voll also found that at certain specific locations on the
anatomy, the electrical flow is much more conductive, and
these points generally correspond to the Eastern Medical
Acupuncture points.
Therefore, you can use an impedance, or OHM, meter to
test the acupuncture points. This is a somewhat simple
explanation, but it does describe the basic process of EAV..
What BEA Is Not

BEA indirectly measures the
"Energetic System" of the
body. It does not measure the
physiology, the biochemistry
or the pathology components
of the human body. However,
the “Energetic System” is
related to these components,
from the standpoint of physics,
not chemistry.
Lab Testing verses Energetic Testing


"Health," in reality, can be broken down to the health
of the tissue, the organs and the glands, and these
are composed of cells. But when you are measuring
the blood, you are not measuring the cells directly. It
is extremely difficult to measure the cells, but we can
indirectly get a sense of what is going on within the
cells by measuring the blood.
Similarly, the energetic system is a component of the
body. It is related to everything going on in the body,
and, therefore, measuring the energetic system gives
us a valuable, non-invasive sense of everything that
is going on within the body.
How Do We Do A BEA
Assessment?



Acupuncture is a science that
works with the "Energetic"
system of the body.
The human body is biochemical
(physical). It has an electrical
component and an energetic
aspect as well.
The acupuncture meridians are a
communication and energetic flow
network.
Energetic verses Electricity

“Energetic,” in this
sense, is a somewhat
elusive term. Yes, the
meridians do have
some form of energy,
but it is not electricity.
What Is an Electrical Circuit?





All materials are made up of molecules. Molecules are
made up of atoms.
Every atom has a positive core in the center, called
the nucleus. Inside the nucleus are protons (tiny
particles that have a positive charge) and neutrons
(tiny particles that have no charge).
Negatively-charged particles called electrons circle
the nucleus, much as planets orbit around the sun.
Usually an atom has the same number of protons
and electrons.
The positive charge of the protons cancels out the
negative charge of the electrons. Most atoms are
therefore neutral.
Electricity Explained




In wires such as copper or fiber optics, the outer electron can
lose track of which atom it belongs to. It wanders easily. Some
electrons become free electrons, or electrons that are not
attached to any atom.
Free electrons can be made to flow through a conducting wire,
such as copper or fiber optics. A voltage source, such as a
battery, is required to "push" the electrons in a steady flow.
Electricity in motion like this is called current electricity. We use
electric current to do work for us, such as light bulbs, turn
motors, operate alarms, or run BEA instruments.
Atomic theory tells us that the electrons flow through a circuit
from the negative terminal of the power supply (usually a
battery), through the connecting wires, to the positive terminal
of the power supply. An electrical circuit, therefore, must form a
closed and continuous loop.

Bio-Physiological Phenomenon


There is a bio-physiological phenomenon that
occurs when you run electricity through the
acupuncture points. The electrical flow
(conductance) gives us an indication of the
energetic health of the meridian that we are
testing.
For example, if you are testing the Liver
Meridian with an EAV instrument, the meter
will give an indication of the Liver Meridian's
energetic status. Remember, energetic is not
electrical, but we can use electricity to
indirectly measure the energetic system.
The Meridian System

According to traditional
Chinese medicine, a
form of bodily energy
called ch’i is generated
in internal organs and
circulates throughout
the body, forming paths
near the surface of the
skin called meridians.
This whole-body
network is called the
meridian system.
What are the Acupuncture
Meridians?




Over 5,000 years ago, the ancient Chinese
discovered a subtle energy in the body that can't be
seen, felt or found with the senses.
Energy disturbances in this subtle field precedes the
manifestation of abnormal patterns of cellular
organization and growth.
Matter and energy are two different manifestations of
the same primary energetic substance of which
everything in the universe is composed, including our
physical and subtle bodies.
Matter, which vibrates at a very slow frequency, is
referred to as physical matter.






Yin Organs
That which vibrates at speeds exceeding light
velocity is known as subtle matter.
Subtle matter is as real as physical matter; its
vibratory rate is simply faster.
Physical matter and subtle matter are believed
to be two opposite ends of one spectrum. Also
in Chinese medicine referred to as Yin, and Yang
energy. These combine within the body to
create this vital force or ch’i, which we can
access via the acupuncture meridians.
Meridians are the pathways of the positive
(Yang) and negative (Yin) energy powers,
which allow for communication between the
various parts of body.
A BEA enables us to energetically determine the
flow of energy along these meridian pathways.
Yang Organs
Meridians and Ch’i (cont.)





Meridians through the ch’i energy connect specific
organs, tissues and teeth, in fact, everything in the
body. These have been measured and mapped by
modern technological methods; electronically,
thermatically and radioactively.
Through the meridians passes an invisible nutritive
energy known as Ch'i.
The Ch'i energy enters the body through specific
acupuncture points and flows to deeper organ
structures, bringing a life-giving nourishment of a subtle
energetic nature.
Acupuncture points have unique electrical
characteristics, which distinguish them from
surrounding skin. These acupuncture points exist along
the meridians.
These points are electro-magnetic in character and
consist of small palpable spots, which can be located by
hand, with micro-electrical voltage meters and with
muscle testing.

The "Universal Baseline"

The "Universal Baseline" makes
EAV a viable testing modality.
Universal Baseline (cont.)


The EAV/OHM meter gives us
conductance readings and there
is intrinsic value in this; however
the actual reason that we can use
EAV to evaluate the meridians is
because, as Dr. Voll discovered,
there is a Universal Baseline.
Regardless of who is tested, no
matter what their age, weight,
sex, nationality or race, a reading
of 50 with no change over time
(no indicator drop), is an
indication of an energetically
healthy meridian.
Inflammatory Phase


Readings that are significantly
above 50 (65 plus) indicate
inflammation, and this is due to
the fact that when tissue
becomes inflamed, the
concentration of body fluids
increases and therefore the
conductance will increase
accordingly. This inflammation
occurs in the tissue and also in
the proximity of the related
acupuncture point as well.
Excretion & Reaction Phases
“Indicator Drop"


When a reading steadily
drops in value from the
high point down, this is
known as an “Indicator
Drop" (ID), and it can
point to a weakness or
disturbance in the
meridian.
Deposition and
Impregnation Phases.
Degenerative Phase


When a reading is
significantly lower
than 50 (below 30)
then it is believed
that this meridian is
low in energy or
possibly
degenerative.
Degenerative and
Neoplasm Phases.
BioEnergetic Remedy Testing


BEA also affords us the opportunity to energetically determine
the most effective supplement protocol, to address specific
individual needs.
Over the course of two decades, Dr. Voll and his associates
perfected EAV/BEA Testing. They based all of their findings on
clinically proven cases in hospitals in Germany.
Remedy Testing (cont.)


A good example of this is Dr. Voll's description of the case of a
patient with chronic pyelitis. Another doctor had prescribed 2
different types of antibiotics, terramycin and aureomycin, and
Dr. Voll was curious to see if both were necessary and what side
effects there might be.
"I began testing and saw that the terramycin only affects the
right kidney and the aureomycin only the left kidney and not
vice versa.... At the same time I discovered that when the
patient first held the terramycin capsules and the aureomycin
capsules, indicator drops for the small intestine and colon
occurred as a sign of a disturbed intestinal flora caused by the
medications. Furthermore the entire values of the endocrine
system, i.e., the values of the Triple Heater meridian, decreased
below 50. This explained to me why fatigue occurs again and
again after antibiotic treatment since this sort of treatment
renders the entire hormonal system temporarily insufficient."

Remedy Testing (cont.)

The nature of remedy testing
is simple. If you find a
meridian with an unfavorable
reading (low, high or with an
Indicator Drop), you can test
different remedies on the
patient. If a given remedy is
favorable to the meridian, it
will then alter the reading,
bringing it closer to the ideal
(50 with no ID).
Cellular Communication


The Body Electric: “Cellular
biology explains that all
cells have two types of
antenna-like receptors on
their surface. While the
first type of receptor is
designed to detect
biochemical substances
such as nutrients or
hormones in the body, the
second type of receptor is
designed specifically to
receive electromagnetic
signals from the
surrounding environment.”
This could give us a clue as
to how the body is able to
energetically isolate a
compatible remedy.
How Can This Benefit You?





A BEA can energetically determine how well or how
badly the body is dealing with current health factors.
A BEA can energetically isolate causative factors
impacting your overall health.
A BEA can quickly and simply determine the most
effective supplement protocol for your body’s specific
needs.
A BEA can track your progress and compare readings
from session to session allowing you to see the
progress as you proceed through the assessment.
A BEA can isolate dental issues that may be having
an adverse impact on numerous organ systems of
the body.

Conclusion

“There are no secret mysterious or magical
technologies. In the final analysis, we are left
with the fact that EAV works and the critical
component is the human element. EAV is the
integration of science and art, electronics and
intuition, software and intent. And, as Hamlet
said, ‘There is much that cannot be explained
between heaven and earth’.”
