The Restylane family of products includes Restylane, Restylane-L,
Perlane, and Perlane-L. These products can be used to add volume and
fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and
folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth
(nasolabial folds). Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in
patients over 21 years. Ask your doctor which is right for you.
*In clinical studies evaluating the Restylane family of products, Restylane-L and Perlane-L demonstrated less
discomfort at injection and up to one hour later when compared to Restylane and Perlane, respectively.
Please see Important Safety Considerations on Slides 20-22.
If you want a more youthful appearance, but you’re concerned about potential
discomfort from treatment, now you can get beautiful results and a more comfortable
Restylane or Perlane treatment experience with Restylane-L or Perlane-L.
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with previous bad
allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria, or by
people with serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital
treatment. These products should not be used by people with bleeding disorders.
a At Day 14 of the Restylane-L and Perlane-L clinical studies, 100% of Restylane-L patients, 98% of Restylane patients,
95% of Perlane-L patients, and 97% of Perlane patients rated their results as “Improved” to “Very Much Improved.”

By adding 0.3% lidocaine to Restylane and Perlane,
Restylane-L and Perlane-L help reduce discomfort.
The aesthetic results and safety profiles of the
Restylane family of products with and without
lidocaine were comparable in clinical studies.
Products should not be injected anywhere except the skin, just under the skin
(Perlane and Perlane-L only), or in the lips (Restylane only). Restylane-L and
Perlane-L should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to lidocaine.
Use at the site of skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection should be
postponed until healing is complete. In these instances, product use could delay
healing or make your skin problems worse.

Restylane can be used to enhance lips in patients over age 21 and
treat moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, including:
Lips (Restylane only)
Laugh lines (nasolabial folds)
Marionette lines
Lipstick lines
Corners of the mouth
Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds,
such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip (Restylane only),
as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe injection
site reactions. The safety or effectiveness of treatment in areas other
than nasolabial folds and lips (Restylane only) has not been established
in controlled clinical studies.

After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity
and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients
under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
b Full correction with Restylane Program Questionnaire Final Results and Summary (n=1325).February 12, 2009. Data on file, Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation. In a 2008–2009 survey study, more than 4000 patients were
treated to full correction. In the week after treatment, patients were asked to complete a survey of seven questions regarding their satisfaction with full correction with Restylane. Results based on responses from 1325 patients.

Rarely, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps
may occur. If you have had facial cold sores before, an injection can cause an outbreak. To avoid bruising and bleeding,
you should not use the products if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. Products should
not be used during pregnancy, when breastfeeding, or in patients under 18 years for nasolabial folds.

If you’re like most people in a patient satisfaction survey, full
correction will give you a lift you’ll love.
Results from a survey of 1,325 people who received full correction
with Restylane showed:
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with
previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as grampositive bacteria, or by people with serious allergies to drugs that have
previously required in-hospital treatment. These products should not be
used by people with bleeding disorders.

What is the Restylane Regimen?
The Restylane Regimen is a treatment plan that involves receiving full
correction at initial treatment and a follow-up treatment at 4.5 or nine
months for nasolabial folds. On average, only half the amount of Restylane
used at the initial treatment was needed to achieve full correction at the
follow-up treatment.
The Restylane Regimen provides beautiful, long-lasting results
Using the Restylane Regimen, patients showed similar improvement, on
average, at 18 months compared to their Week 2 Wrinkle Severity Rating
Scale (WSRS) score for treatment of nasolabial folds.
Products should not be injected anywhere except the skin, just under the skin
(Perlane and Perlane-L only), or in the lips (Restylane only). Restylane-L and
Perlane-L should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to lidocaine.
Use at the site of skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection should
be postponed until healing is complete. In these instances, product use could

Perlane is appropriate for wrinkles that benefit from a deeper
injection into the skin.
Perlane is a member of the Restylane family of products. Like Restylane,
Perlane restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to
severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the
corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
On average, the gel particles in Perlane are larger than those in
Restylane. Perlane is a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from a
deeper injection into the skin.
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with
previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as grampositive bacteria, or by people with serious allergies to drugs that have
previously required in-hospital treatment. These products should not be
used by people with bleeding disorders.

Treatment with a product in the Restylane family typically takes less than one hour
(individual treatment times may vary). Generally, there is little to no downtime
associated with the Restylane family of products.
Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip
(Restylane only), as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe injection site reactions. The safety or
effectiveness of treatment in areas other than nasolabial folds and lips (Restylane only) has not been established in

There are a few do’s and don’ts before and after your treatment with a
product in the Restylane family. Your healthcare professional will
provide you with more details based on your specific needs, but here
are a few guidelines:
Before Treatment
Avoid using aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such
as ibuprofen), St. John’s wort, or high doses of vitamin E supplements.
These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Talk with your healthcare professional if you have previously suffered
from facial cold sores. He or she may prescribe a medication to
minimize recurrence.
After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain,
bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and
normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14
days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years,
and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
16
Please see Important Safety Considerations on Slides 20-22.
After Treatment
Use cold compresses to reduce swelling.
Avoid touching the treated area for the first six hours following
treatment, so you do not accidentally injure your skin while the area
is numb. After six hours, the area can be gently washed with soap
and water.
Avoid exposure to intense heat (sun lamp or sunbathing) until
redness or swelling disappears.
Reduce the risk of facial cold sore recurrence that could be caused
by needle punctures. Talk with your healthcare professional about
medications that may minimize an outbreak.
Rarely, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the
skin. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. If you have had
facial cold sores before, an injection can cause an outbreak. To avoid
bruising and bleeding, you should not use the products if you have recently
used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. Products should not be
used during pregnancy, when breastfeeding, or in patients under 18 years
for nasolabial folds.

After Treatment (cont.)
Avoid taking aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications,
St. John’s wort, or high doses of vitamin E supplements for one week
after treatment. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at
the injection site.
After your treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain,
bruising, and tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and
normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14
days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years,
and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years. Contact
your healthcare professional if you experience side effects beyond 14
days—and ask about follow-up appointments.
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with
previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as grampositive bacteria, or by people with serious allergies to drugs that have
previously required in-hospital treatment. These products should not
be used by people with bleeding disorders.
