Med-Act operates in a suburban
environment with:
• Population of 500,000 citizens
• 134 Employees
• 14 ambulances / 4 paramedic
advanced response units in 17
stations.
• All ambulances are staffed with
two paramedics to assure the
highest quality of patient care.
• Field staff enjoys the ability to
work a Berkley / 24 hour shift
schedule (every other day for 3
and 4 off).

These Tactical Medics receive
specialized training to
provide on scene medical
support to many local law
enforcement agencies
under adverse operating
conditions on the scenes of
drug arrests, barricaded
subjects, hostage
situations, and serving
warrants.

Emergency Operations Team
Johnson County Med-Act
These specially trained
medics have responded
to such incidents as
major ice storms,
severe winter storms,
and a train derailment.
They coordinate efforts
with other county,
regional, state and
federal agencies.

The Hazardous Materials
Medical Support Team
works in tandem with local
fire services and provides
support with a regional
response team.
The Urban Search and
Rescue team assists in
cases where patients are
trapped or missing due to
natural disaster.
Special Ops. – Bicycle Team
Johnson County Med-Act
Med-Act’s Bicycle Medical Team staffs major
events where larger vehicles would be unable to
travel through crowds.
Bicycles are equipped with AEDs, airway
equipment, IV supplies and medications, this
team remains close to the public, our customers.

Critical Care Transport Team
Johnson County Med-Act
Med-Act has specially
trained critical care
transport paramedics
that are designated to
complete inter-hospital
transfers.
