Core Measure #5 Clinical
Decision Support
(1) Implement 5 clinical decision support
interventions related to 4 or more clinical
quality measures at a relevant point in patient
care for the entire EHR reporting period.
6
Core Measure #5 Clinical
Decision Support
Absent four clinical quality measures related
to EH or CAH patient population, CDS
interventions must be related to high-priority
health conditions. It is suggested that one of
the 5 CDS interventions be related to
improving healthcare efficiency
7
Core Measure #5 Clinical
Decision Support Part 2
(2) The eligible hospital or CAH has enabled
the functionality for drug-drug and drugallergy interaction checks for the entire EHR
reporting period
8
Comparison to Stage 1
• Increased number of Clinical Decision Support rules
from 1 to 5
• Added Drug-Drug and Drug-Allergy criteria to this
measure
• Continues to be Self-Attestation
• No third party software required (However, if utilizing
Problem List, would utilize SNOMED-CT codes for
previous/current medical history)
