Cem is a no profit association for social
promotion, born in 2007 as result of the
collaboration of the partners in the Italian “Emece
project”, (Eduquer aux Médias pour un Espace
Civique Européen- Projet Comenius 2.1 N.
226642-CP-1-FR-C2.1).
CEM associates are university professors and
researchers, teachers, psychologists,
sociologists, experts and researchers in
communication, experts in web and software
editing. They are all interested in multimedia
communication and development of ICT.
Because Media education is expanding, both
as a subject in its own right, and as a crosscurricular theme and Italian education should
be prepared to face the challenge of dealing
with Media –both “old” and “new” - in order
to provide tools apt to deal with them and to
improve Media literacy at all levels.
CEM organizes
◦
courses for students of primary and secondary
schools. These projects focus on media decoding,
interpreting and realization of media products by the
students.
◦ Training courses for teachers on the use of media
and ICT applied to teaching.
◦ Courses aimed to video and documentaries making –
in collaboration with the University of Pavia, and the
use of special software for didactic purposes.
◦ Congress and seminars on the theme of Media
Education
Through an active and long-term
collaboration with
◦ Schools
◦ University
◦ Local authorities
◦ Partners in European projects
CEM is one of the Italian partners of the
European project SHARP “A platform for
sharing and re/present” (EACEA- LLP)
SHARP aims to create an innovative web
platform, where multimedia products,
realised in each context to re/present and
document identities, memories and
environmental themes coming from each
partner’s area, can be uploaded, shared and
manipulated. Audio/video materials can then
be created collaboratively by editing materials
online.
