Alligator
• Alligators live in southeastern
United States’ water and
lowlands.
• Alligators eat fish, turtles,
birds, and small mammals.
• Alligators weigh up to 550
pounds. They are up to 12 feet
or 3.7 meters long. They have
dry brownish greenish skin.
• An alligator mother may help
her young reach the water by
carrying them in her mouth.

catch. They can leap about 15
feet (4.5 meters), and their
zigzagging hops make them
hard to follow.

• A interesting fact about the
starfish is starfish have five
arms and if a hunting animal
grabs an arm it can break off,
but later the arm grows back.

about 2 1/2 feet.
• The wolf has excellent senses

deer more than 1 mile or
1.6 kilometers away.

Kids’ Edition.
• They typed their information into PowerPoint
slides and chose a background color.
• They added a picture from Microsoft Clip Art, or
used Google to find a picture on the Internet.
• Finally, they did a spell check and a reading
check with Ms. Ewing, and she added their slide
to the class’s virtual zoo.
