‘Old’ records can be removed from tables
Data Entry Databases
Records only needed until data export/import
occurs.
Reporting Databases
Assuming that a set number of years of
information is being kept, any records which
fall outside that period may be deleted.
In all cases, database backups should be
done before erasing records.

Periodically shrink database to keep
database size manageable.
Tables which are not in use, may be
deleted from the database.
Placing indexes on various fields in
edcards may improve performance.
