Unit Focus
This unit focuses on particular development,
Camisea in Peru, and the advantages and
disadvantages for the region. On 5 August
2004 the Peruvian President, Alejandro
Toledo, switched on the taps of Peru’s
natural gas project ‘Camisea’ 20 years after
the gas reserves were originally discovered.
