Tom Terrific has a garden in the shape of a rectangle.
He wanted to plant a tree in the exact center of the

garden. WhatInequalities
would be
way that he could find the
center without using any measurement?

Conrad’s Taxi Service chargers $1.50 for the first mile and
$.90 for each additional mile. How much money will Mr.
Kolp owe after traveling 11 miles?
Inequalities (Day 49)
Take a stand if . . .
you got tons of candy yesterday.
you know what six tenths times two is.
you would rather go to a hanted house or
work at a haunted house.
you know what four hundred times nine is.
your favorite football team won on Sunday.
you know what one and two-thirds is as an
improper fraction.
Inequalities (Day 49)
Inequality is a mathematical sentence formed by
placing an inequality symbol between two
expressions. (Like an equation, but with >,<)
Solution of an inequality is a set of numbers you
can substitute for a variable to make the
statement true

To solve an inequality…
treat it just like an equation and follow your
two rules:
- Get the variable alone
- Balance (do the same to both sides)
- NEW…When multiplying or dividing by
negative, reverse the inequality
