History on the Virus
 The actual definition of a virus is a computer program than can copy
itself to a computer and infect a computer
 The first computer virus to come about was named “Rother J” . It was
seen outside of the lab that it was actually created in . Created in 1981 by
Richard Skrenta it attached itself to the Apple DOS 3.3 operating system
. It spread through floppy disk . The virus was created as a joke and was
inserted on a game on the floppy disk . Most viruses are created by virus
workers under contract for organized crime syndicates , Almost 70
percent .
Virus
 Viruses can not spread themselves without piggybacking on real
programs. For example viruses may attach themselves to a
spreadsheet program and each time the spreads sheet is open the
virus spreads but they can not be obtained through surfing the
internet unless they are attached to a program . Computer viruses are
most commonly spread by attachments in email or messaging . They
can be hidden as funny images , greeting cards , or audio and video
viruses. Clicking on any and everything can cause you to receive
viruses onto the computer .Viruses can damage the computer so
much to where it is no longer capable of functioning. But a virus seeks
to infect a computer as soon as possible and many other computers as
well.
Slide 3
Virus 2
 Some Symptoms of knowing your computer has a virus are when the
computer is acting unusual . For instance stops responding , running
slower , crashes , and restarts every five minutes ad many others .
Sometimes these signs are not computer viruses but they may be
because of hardware or software problems .You can protect your
computer from these viruses though . To protect your computer turn on
the firewall , keep the computer operating system up to date , use
updated antivirus software on the computer , or use antispyware on the
computer . Viruses show us Human Vulnerability and how easily we are
fooled . A example of an virus is a worm which is a program capable of
getting into the computer without the users permission as well .
