Equity in the Workplace
This information could apply to bullying
and/or harassment. However for the
purposes of this training we will discuss
sexual harassment.
It is the policy of Wasatch County School District to
maintain a learning and working environment free
from sexual harassment. Wasatch County School
District prohibits any form of sexual harassment and
will take appropriate disciplinary action including
warning, suspension, or termination, to prevent the
reoccurrence of sexual harassment.
What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment consists of unwelcome sexual
advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually
motivated physical conduct or verbal or physical
conduct or communication of a sexual nature
when:
The conduct takes the form of Quid Prop Quo
(something in exchange for something)
The conduct has the purpose or effect of
unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work or
academic performance or creates and intimidating,
hostile, or offensive work or educational environment
May include, but not limited to:
Criminal behavior: Rape or attempted rape, sexual abuse, sexual
assault, lewdness, hazing; etc
Quid Pro Quo (something in exchanging for something)
Actions creating a hostile environment such as: unwelcome or
offensive public displays of affection; offensive communication:
leers, stares, remarks, innuendoes; gestures
Offensive name calling, profanity of a sexual nature; offensive
pranks; offensive exposure; offensive written or visual displays
Any unwelcome behavior that is degrading,
intimidating, demeaning, or based on sexual
stereotypes or attitudes.
Any person who believes he or she has been
sexually harassed by a student or employee, or
any third person with knowledge or belief of such
conduct, should submit a report of the alleged acts
immediately to the HR Director of Wasatch County
School District.
