 This person is called a mediator
 The mediator does not tell the
people what to do … just helps
them decide for themselves.
Arbitration
 The arbitrator does solve the
problem or conflict between 2
or more people.
 The people must do whatever
the arbitrator suggests.
Litigation
 A lawyer is hired to solve a
conflict.
 They may go to trial.
 The judge acts as the
arbitrator.
 The judge decides who is
right according to the law.
Legislation
 Laws are made to solve or
prevent a conflict.
 Some conflicts cause people
to change laws so the
problem won’t happen again.
