Li Yuan
Li Shimin
Tang DynastyLi Yuan, also called Emperor Gaozu,
was the founder and first emperor.
Li Shimin, also called Taizong, was the
son of Li Yuan. He expanded the empire
and was viscous. (Killed his own
brothers) Built a new legal code.
Li Zhu, also known as Emperor Aidi.
Ascended throne at age 13.

East.
Study of Medicine, used herbs and organic
material.

Equal Field System- a movement to
distribute land evenly.
The An Lushan Revolt (755-763): major
revolt that weakened the Tang army and
dynasty greatly. Lasted through the rein
of 3 emperors
The Huang Chao Rebellion (874-884):
decade long rebellion led by Huang
Chao that led to the dynasty’s downfall.

Tang Dynasty:
Japan-exchanged culture, politics, education
and language
Xinluo- Tang presented silk, porcelain, Chinese
tea, and engraving typography. Xinluo provided
medicine materials, handcrafted items, Korean
ginseng and Korean music
Persia and Dashi- introduced dates and
spinach to China. Learned Chinese culture.

Emperor Taizu
Founded the Dynasty, began the reunification
of China.
Emperor Yingzong
Fifth emperor of China. Reigned from 10631067. Name means “ Outstandingly talented
ancestor.
Song Weiwang
Was only seven when he became emperor and died
at the age of eight. Name means “Lord Perpetual
Nation

ginseng, pine nuts, paper, brushes, ink,
fans, etc. for silk, books, porcelain,
medicines, spices, and musical
instruments.
Muslims- traded and appointed to
supervise economic affairs
